Storing your comics in our our Corrugated Cardboard COMIC STORAGE BOXES keeps them in an environment that will protect the corners, edges, and flat surfaces. It also keeps them away from ultraviolet light, dust, and other airborne pollutants that can destroy or damage them.
• Our boxes are super strong, properly sized and stackable. They come with 3" deep sturdy covers and die-cut handles that can be in the open position for carrying or closed position for storing. Divider cards fit in our boxes with the lids on. They are easy to assemble and need no glue or tape.
• For even better protection, use our Plastic Corrugated COMIC STORAGE BOXES. They are made with acid-free, water-resistant, antistatic and vermin-resistant material.
Bags Unlimited has designed STACKABLE FILE CABINET BOXES for our compact comic (XCC200) and long comic box (XLC300). No more stacking and unstacking comic boxes to find the comic book you are looking for!

WHAT DOES A GRADED COMIC MEAN?
What DOES a "GRADED" comic mean?
The above article explains what a "Graded" comic is, and why it's important. Also important is STORING your graded comics. Every time a comic is touched, a residue of oil is left on it. After time, this oil can begin to break down the paper and cause your comic to lose value. Light, dust, temperature and other considerations must be learned when keeping a collection healthy and valuable.
Bags Unlimited has been protecting comics since the early 1970's and we know our products! If you have any questions about how to protect your collection, please call us at 800-767-2247.
Thanks!
The Bags Unlimited Team
What's The Difference in The Acid Free Material I Use?
Store your Digests, Paperbacks and Pulps in our POLY BAGS and protect them from dust, dirt, finger oils and other airborne pollutants. Our bags hold size and thickness tolerances and come in printed outer bags for easy product identification.
We stock paperback, pulp magazine and digest bags made out of polyethylene and polypropylene. Both of these materials have passed the Photo Activity Test (P.A.T.) certifying that they are safe for long-term storage.
• Polyethylene (PE) is a soft, clear material with "breathing" capabilities (lets moisture escape). It has some elasticity which allows a tighter fit than polypropylene or polyester. It has good contact clarity.
• Polypropylene (PP) material is crystal-clear with excellent contact clarity. It is bi-oriented material which will not pucker or ripple over time. PP is stiffer than polyethylene. The side seals need care when inserting items, as the seams are not as strong as the PE seams.
This is a short break down of the materials most often used for clear collection protection sleeves.
Many people prefer mylar which is VERY clear with a "crisp" feel to it, but did you know that frequently removing a product stored in mylar CAN make microscopic tears over time? Mylar would be best used for shorter term storage.

Bags Unlimited and the Famous "Garbage Plate"
Nick Tahou Hots' fast-food restauran signRochester, New York, is known for this unusual dish. The Garbage Plate was created at Nick Tahou Hots' fast-food restaurant more than fifty years ago.
In 1918, Alexander Tahou opened a restaurant in Rochester called “Hots and Potatoes”. On the menu was a dish that included just about everything the kitchen could cook — meat and potatoes with a few other things thrown in to make a one-plate meal that would really stick to your ribs. Alexander's son, Nick, took over the restaurant operations and updated the name to Garbage Plate.
Legend has it that long-ago college students asked Nick Tahou for a dish with ''all the garbage'' on it. So, he concocted his original combo plate with two hamburger patties and a choice of two sides — usually some combination of home fries, macaroni salad, and beans. The contents are often laced heavily with ketchup and hot sauce, and mixed together before eating. Rolls or white bread are served on the side. By the 1980s, the place was a huge hit with the college crowd, and eventually that meat and potatoes dish (or "hots and po-tots" as it was sometimes called) was dubbed the Garbage Plate. In 1992, the name iwas trademarked.
The Garbage Plate is considered a great late-night snack, and this restaurant is packed with diners from around midnight to 4:00 a.m. Young college men living in Rochester, who like to have contests to see how much beer or food they can consume, consider the Garbage Plate a rite of passage from boyhood to manhood.

Film History Before 1920 and George Eastman
Film History Before 1920
http://www.filmsite.org/pre20sintro2.html
Very interesting information given on film history. We are very blessed to be in the city of GEORGE EASTMAN. I remember visiting the Eastman House as a child, and how fascinating it all was.
You can read about George Eastman here: http://www.eastmanhouse.org/collections/eastman/biography.php
Many people don't know that Eastman committed suicide. That always struck me as so tragic because I could not fathom how such a brilliant mind would want to end his life.
To ensure the success of his company in Rochester, Eastman left in his will money that would encourage education, appreciation of the arts, and expansion of medical services in the community. Eastman’s generosity and love for Rochester continues to be reflected through his gifts, such as the University of Rochester’s Eastman Dental Center and Eastman School of Music. These organizations have kept alive Eastman’s wish to continuously improve the quality of life for Rochesterians.
Film is fascinating! and Movies are awesome...we sure have come a long way, baby! HAPPY READING!

Vintage Posters and Prints - Collector Information | Collectors Weekly
The rise in advertising during the Victorian Era spurred inventions such as the four-color lithograph, which was used to produce, among other things, appealing images for advertisers. In 1867, Jules Cheret, inspired—perhaps ironically—by Japanese woodcuts, used the newly-developed system to combine text and images into a poster. Soon, European artists like Alphonse Mucha and Henri Toulouse-Lautrec were creating posters combining Art Nouveau aesthetics with easily understandable sales pitches...
Posters and prints enjoy a number of obvious similarities. For example, both are multiples, which simply means that more than one version of the image exists, and posters and prints are often produced using the exact same techniques. In the case of a poster, though, the edition size is not necessarily fixed or even documented. To make matters more complicated, some of the earliest fine-art etchings and woodblock prints were produced in what are sometimes called “open editions.” Today, however, prints are typically signed and numbered, which is the main reason why prints tend to be more highly valued than posters.
One important difference between the two categories is that many printmaking techniques go back much further than poster technologies such as lithography, which only dates to the late 18th century. Historians believe that woodcutting probably originated in China around the early 9th century. By the 15th century the German engraver Albrecht Dürer was using this ancient technique to create prints of incredible detail. The rise in advertising during the Victorian Era spurred inventions such as the four-color lithograph, which was used to produce, among other things, appealing images for advertisers. ALL ABOUT POSTCARDS
As postcards became the quickest, easiest way to send a greeting or note around 1898, they also made the perfect vehicle for a joke. A postcard back has just enough space for an illustration and a zinger, and the sender had the pleasure of knowing they’d just delivered a smile—or a guffaw.
Some comic postcards were political in nature, mocking a political candidate, the suffrage movement, or the enemy during a war. Others featured favorite characters from the newspaper funny pages. Some of these familiar comic-strip icons, like Buster Brown, were employed in postcards sent out as witty advertisements. Still others contained racy or risque jokes or racist caricatures of African Americans.
By the elections of 1900, postcards were becoming an acceptable means of sending out campaign propaganda, and particularly jabs against rival candidates. However, it was during t...

Mylar (Polyester) Sleeves/P.A.T tested. Can YOUR Comic Sleeves say that?
Mylar (Polyester) Sleeves
These 2 mil and 4 mil Comic Book Sleeves are made of Archival Polyester (Mylar) an inert material of the highest clarity. We use DuPont inert Melinex® or a suitable equivalent.
Polyester (Mylar) will not discolor, damage, or adhere to items placed inside it. It is a sturdy film that beautifully displays, timelessly protects, and gives extra support to fragile documents.
**NEW** We have added two styles of 4 mil polyester sleeves. They are both made of the same archival polyester material, but they have two different flap styles. The Open Flap style (ROF) has to be creased to form the flap and then folded over. The Beaded Flap style (BF) has a third piece of polyester that is bead welded to the extended back of the sleeve, creating the flap.
Our polyester material has passed the Photo Activity Test (PAT).http://www.bagsunlimited.com/c-353-mylar-polyester-sleeves.aspx RSS 2.0: http://collectionprotection.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss

16" and 20" Vinyl Discs
16 and 20" discs — Although 12" was the largest disc diameter used in consumer products, broadcasting studios made use of 16" and 20"-diameter 78 rpm acetate "transcriptions," used for time-delaying programs and for prerecording broadcasts. These could provide up to 20 minutes of unbroken program material with very good fidelity (indistinguishable from live to casual, but not to critical listeners). Early classical LP recordings were in fact initially recorded on 20" 78-rpm acetates for later transfer to LP. 16" turntables are still seen in professional broadcast equipment, although it is probably very rare that any disk larger than 12" is ever played on them.

What makes your comic bok valuable?
Comic book Collectors get great products and service from Bags Unlimited.

We store comics to keep them valuable. Air pollution, ultra violet light, dirt and oil from fingers as well as rough handling all contribute to the deterioration of a comic. Storing a comic properly is essential to keeping it valuable. There are 3 major storage components to proper comic storage. They are a comic bag, a comic backing board and a comic box. | |||
Bags | Putting your comic in a properly sized comic bag not only keeps dust, dirt and finger oils off the comic book surface, but helps prevent scuffing which can bring down the value of a comic book considerably. The three most popular comic bag materials are polyethylene, polypropylene and Mylar. Bags Unlimited carries New Comic Bags, Regular Comic Bags, Dell & Silver Age Comic Bags and Golden Age Comic Bags as well as Treasury Comic Bags in all three of these materials. All three materials are considered to be archival-meaning that there is nothing in the composition of the material that can contribute to the breakdown or destruction of the comic being stored in it. Mylar is considered to be the most archivally sound and is the choice of most museums and archivists as it has the longest shelf life of the three materials. Every day comic collectors can feel comfortable using polyethylene comic bags or polypropylene comic bags. Our comic bags come with a fold over flap that can be taped on the outside of the bag. We also carry comic bags with a reseal tape on the body of the bag (vs. the flap), so the tape doesn't catch on the comic and cause damage to the comic. |

Comic Book Backing Board
Backing Board
Comic Backing Boards come in different thicknesses and acid-free properties. The basic purpose for using a backing board is to give the comic some stiffness, which helps keep the comic pages from bending, creasing or wrinkling. When a backing is placed in the center of the comic it protects the comic book spine from crushing. The second purpose for using a backing board in a comic is its potential to neutralize acid in the comic book paper. Acid in the paper that the comic is printed can cause the deterioration of the comic. Using an acid-free backing in your comic can potentially trap and neautralize acid in the paper. The three types of comic backing boards we offer are: economy comic backings, standard acid-free comic backings and archival comic backings. The economy comic backing should be used for short-term storage and stiffening purposes only. It does contain acid and can contribute to the breakdown of the comic. People generally use this board for quick sale items. The standard acid-free comic backing material is acid-free and can be used for long-term storage (over 100 years). The archival comic backing material is acid-free and buffered with calcium carbonate, which means that it will remain archival for 100's of years. Our comic backing boards are sized to properly fit into our comic bags.
Corrugated Comic Book Boxes
Corrugated
All of our Comic Boxes are super strong and come with sturdy well-fitting lids and handle holes that can be left in the closed position for storing or pushed open for carrying. They are properly sized to hold a comic in a bag with a backing board. Our comic divider cards (used for categorizing) fit in our comic boxes with the lid on. All of our comic boxes ship flat which takes up less storage room. They fold together when you are ready to use them without glue or tape. Storing your comics in a properly sized box helps protect your comics from corner and edge damage. Putting your comics in a comic box also protects the comic from being exposed to ultra-violet light. Ultra-violet light causes inks to fade. Our comic boxes are made form either Corrugated Plastic or Corrugated Cardboard and come in several different lengths for your various storage/display needs. Comic storage boxes do not need to be acid-free if you have your comics in bags. For short tern storage the most popular material choice for comic storage boxes is corrugated cardboard. It is sturdy and reasonably priced. Corrugated plastic comic boxes are an excellent choice for long-term comic storage because the material is acid-free, water proof, vermin resistant and extremely strong. They are more expensive than the corrugated comic boxes, but the material properties of the plastic corrugated material make the extra cost worth the investment for long term archival comic storage. 78rpm RECORD & VINYL RECORD CARE
78rpm & Vinyl Record Care consists of three main components:
Knowledge of 78rpm & Vinyl Record Materials,
78rpm & Vinyl Record Cleaning and
78rpm & Vinyl Record Storage & Storage Materials.
78rpm & VINYL RECORD MATERIALS
Knowledge of the materials that 78rpm & Vinyl Records have been made from of over the years will help you to properly care for your record collection. The following is a list of the various materials used to make 78rpm & Vinyl Records and possible degenerative issues with each type of material.
78rpm Record Materials:
1. Some of the first sound recordings were made on Acetate. The base of the disc was made from aluminum, glass or cardboard, which was then coated with lacquer and plasticized with castor oil. Shrinkage of the lacquer coating due to loss of the castor oil plasticizer is the primary source of destruction of these discs. Excess moisture and heat will accelerate plasticizer loss also. Acetate is very susceptible to fungus growth.
2. Another material used to make some of the first sound recordings was Shellac. Some were made from organic shellac and some were made from commercial resins. It is difficult to discern which is which, but most recordings after WWII were made with resins such as Vinsol, Valtie and Vinyl chloride acetate. Many different fillers were used to make the cores of the earliest records-therefore there is no consistent behavior in the degenerative behavior of these records. The shellac itself is resistant to fungus attack, but the wide variety of materials used for the cores, may not be. High humidity levels accelerate the embrittlement of shellac discs.
3. The Edison Diamond discs were the first synthetic discs. They were made from a material called Phenol (also used in the manufacture of Bakelite). This material is generally very stable, but can be affected by moisture and severe humidity changes. It is not however prone to bacteria, fungi or insect attack.
33-1/3 LP and 45rpm Record Material:
Vinyl records (33-1/3 LP and 45rpm) are made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC). It has proven to be the most stable material for sound recording. Vinyl will however degrade chemically when exposed to ultraviolet light or to heat. Humidity does not affect the PVC itself, but will affect the packaging it is stored in. PVC is also resistant to fungal growth.
Information on record material types was taken in part from 'The Care and Handling of Recorded Sound Materials' by Gilles St-Laurent Music Division of the National Library of

PVC is also resistant to fungal growth.

78rpm RECORD & VINYL RECORD CARE
78rpm & Vinyl Record Care consists of three main components:
- Knowledge of 78rpm & Vinyl Record Materials,
- 78rpm & Vinyl Record Cleaning and
- 78rpm & Vinyl Record Storage & Storage Materials.

HOW WILL SLEEVES PROTECT MY COLLECTIBLE?
Twitter / BagsUnlimited1: Polypropylene COMIC BAGS. 1.2mil. ...
Why do you need sleeves for comics? Well, time has a way of damaging everything....dust, dirt, oil, sun, and plain old time slowly causes chemical damage to most everything...ever see a really old wooden chair that has not been taken care of? It loses luster and can become brittle, and even moldy. Well, paper is much the same...over time it oxidizes, colors change and fade, and pages become brittle. That kind of damage can mean the difference in hundreds of dollars~It's easy to prevent time from ravaging your collectibles, and if you're on a budget, these sleeves ought to cover you!

DON'T RISK THE BREAKDOWN OF YOUR MOST VALUABLE RECORDED DATA.
Corrosion Intercept Technology
Contrary to previous belief, research is now showing that CDs, DVDs and CDRs are vulnerable to oxidation, corrosive gases, and UV breakdown. A new technology has been developed to slow this destruction down, and is known as CORROSION INTERCEPT TECHNOLOGY. CDs and DVDs stored in sleeves, pages and cases utilizing this technology show a 30 times longer shelf-life than those stored in regular storage containers.
This technology uses molecular-sized copper fragments impregnated into the materials to neutralize noxious pollutants that attack and degrade information stored on CDs and DVDs. This technology also protects CDs and DVDs from electrostatic discharge (ESD) which can also destroy data and can be produced by simply touching a CD/DVD after walking across a carpeted floor.
For extra protection, the translucent archival polyester that is used in these products has been treated to shield the stored items from UV rays. http://www.bagsunlimited.com/c-519-corrosion-intercept.aspx

INVESTING IN COMICS
When it comes to which comics to invest in, many forget one important ingredient about comic investing. The one thing most forget is getting the most value for your investments when it comes to buying them and the time to sell them.
The debate about whether to get your comics third party graded by professional grading services like CGC and PGX still rages. Some refuse to get comics graded. I'm going to reveal why this is a mistake.
There will come a time when you'll want to sell your comic books. Your main goal should be getting the highest return on your comic investments.
Ungraded books will leave you with a higher risk of selling your comics or collection for far less than they're worth. Most collectors don't know how to properly grade. This leaves them wide open targets for comic dealers.
There are some trust-worthy dealers out there, but there are also many comic buyers and dealers who are looking to rip you off when buying your collection. Many will under grade your collection and try to get your key issues as cheap as possible.
Comic books that aren't professionally graded by CGC or PGX run the risk of too much subjectivity. You may think you're book comic is at a Near Mint, and it may be, but a comic dealer can persuade you that it's no higher than a grade of Fine.
A comic that's CGC graded is considered "universal." That means whatever grade CGC grades the book, it's accepted by most collectors and dealers alike, making it harder for anyone to under grade your comics or to question the validity of it's grade.
That fact is also important for many collectors as well. Many ebay sellers don't know how to grade and advertise their comics at grades higher than they should be.
A comic that's CGC graded eliminates this problem. If it's CGC graded, you can be certain that you are paying for the grade the book is listed as.
Both buyers and sellers benefit. Buyers don't want to pay for a book at a Near Mint price when it's real value is at a Fine, and someone selling their comic investments don't want to sell their comic at a Fine price when the book's grade and value is at Near Mint.
Of course, getting your comic books graded by professional services like CGC or PGX can be expensive, as well as buying books already graded. This is why it's important to know which comics to invest in as well as which comic investments already in your collection that are worth getting CGC graded.
Don't waste your money by sending comic books that aren't worth grading to CGC or PGX! Discover what are the best CGC comics to invest in by clicking the link, as well as the top comic investment choices to get professionally graded if you have them!

A VINYL COME BACK...PLEASE
Vinyl has had a long standing reputation for purity of sound, clarity and a "fullness" that cannot be duplicated in CD'S. Yeah, sure, CD'S are great..in fact, CD'S are awesome! (At least now that you can burn your own without blowing your whole wad to purchase a single CD only to find out there was only ONE song you loved!). But, let's face it, vinyl is still king...that's right, I said it...vinyl is, was and always will be king.
Thankfully, we are seeing a resurgence of vinyl....artists are now having their new music pressed (that must make vinyl pressers VERY happy) and people are....well, people are enjoying it!
If you own vinyl, you obviously own a stereo system. Maybe it's that tricked out piece of work you put together in the 70's ...your piece of art..."your masterpiece", yeah, OK, your baby. (I am sure it's sweet).
Or you maybe you own a new system you just purchased...maybe you know a lot about it...maybe you don't. I don't know, but that doesn't really matter...what DOES matter is that you now own (or still) your own vinyl records and your own stereo system...again, SWEET!
So what about vinyl's come back??
Oh, it's here to stay....it may even out run CD'S! (yes, I said it).
Here is where you can get the best of BOTH worlds...Bags Unlimited has a stereo that allows you to play your records and turn them into CD'S...but wait...there's more! CROSLEY RECORD PLAYER! With the Crosley Songwriter CD Burner, you can now simply take your old vinyls and convert them to CD in minutes with just a few simple steps. The Songwriter CD Burner allows those old vinyls to be recorded in a digital audio format for high quality sound on compact disc. It also allows you to record from cassette to CD. However, if you still want to enjoy your albums old style, then Crosley's Songwriter offers a 3 speed turntable for your listening enjoyment.
Oh, there is so much to vinyl that LOVE cannot describe the joy that seeing my old albums brings. (btw, the Crosely is on sale at Bags Unlimited right now).
I anticipate a great return to vinyl recordings and if you feel like I do, then join me in preserving your albums with the best products on the market...only at www.bagsunlimited.com

ART and How to Protect it
The Art of Art and how to protect it
Argh! Ever write a blog and then it disappears?
Anyway, what I PREVIOUSLY wrote was about art…art is powerful..it can take you places, transport you into another time, place and even dimension. Not all art is good, but all art is a creation…a symphony of dreams and statements and thought provoking illustrations, brush sweeps and details of someone emoting…
That’s cool. Art can be like great literature…tell a story in a painting. Art can make you happy, mad, confused, sad and even a little crazy. But that is part of of the beauty of art! I envy those who can draw. I truly do. I try to allow my hand to take me where my thoughts are going but all I get are scribbles of something of a “wanna-be”. So, my hat is off to all of you who are fortunate enough and blessed enough to have the talent take us places, move us inspire us and change and even tranform us. THANK YOU.
Bags Unlimited has lots of product info to help you understand what products are best used to protect your art…whether you supply or buy, it’s important to protect art in acid free products. You can read more about this at www.bagsunlimited.com

Pittsburgh Comic Con
http://www.pittsburghcomicon.com/
I come from a long line of comic book collectors and work with tons of them as well. I'm not a comic book collector myself, but I am knocked off my feet by the number of guests that are coming to this show. The show starts tomorrow April 20th and runs through Sunday April 22nd. Stop by our booth and say hi to Dave and Tom. Ask them to give you a great "show discount" price on supplies! Also ask them about the new storage box we are carrying for "Trade" Paperbacks and Hard Covers. They should have some there! It's a terrific box, made from plastic corrugated and holds up to 20 trades. If they've sold out of the Trade Storage Box- remember all shipping is free on orders of $200 or more if you're West of the Mississippi River and there is no charge for shipping on orders of any size if you are located East of the Mississippi River.
NEW ITEMS ON OVERSTOCK- 25% OFF: Buy 'em while supplies last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Code: S2S3- Two sheet poster poly sleeves
Code: ABSTEEL2- 2# steel bookweight
Code: MRTT1113W: rigid mailer
Code: AMS4015: photo mounting strips
Code: BT04CK: Black t-shirt bag

Independent Record Stores Struggling?
Louisville Filmmaker to Screen Record Store Documentary
by ERIN KEANE on APRIL 2, 2012
Louisville filmmaker Scott Shuffitt will screen his new documentary about the struggles of independent record stores Saturday at the Louisville Science Center.
Shuffitt began working on “Brick and Mortar and Love” in early 2010 after former ear X-tacy owner John Timmons issued a public appeal to help save his store. Shuffitt originally hoped the film would be a rally call to keep the store’s doors open, but ear X-tacy closed before the documentary could be completed.
“Obviously that can’t happen now. But the idea is still the same, that there are still independent record stores that need support,” Shuffitt says.
Now, Shuffitt hopes his film will help others understand the struggles independent music retailers face and what the cultural insight music communities stand to lose if they fail.
“I appreciate culture. When I would go into ear X-tacy it was inspiring to me to be in there, to be in that place, to be surrounded by the feel of the store,” he says. “To know that the people who worked there loved and cared about music and were excited about turning me on to new music, that’s very valuable.”
Timmons will join Shuffitt for a Q & A session after the film.
Though “Brick and Mortar and Love” focuses Timmons’ struggles to keep ear X-tacy afloat, it also takes a wider look at the health of the independent record store across the United States.
“They’re all struggling. The music industry, things have been tough for music retail for several years. It wasn’t just John,” says Shuffitt.
Shuffitt interviewed owners of other venerable indie stores like Cincinnati’s Shake-It Records and Austin’s Waterloo Records about the effect the tough economy and a struggling music industry has had on independent music retailers.
“The record stores that are out there, they’re trying really hard. They’re fighting every day to keep their customers, to build their customer base, and to make sure their customers are satisfied. But it’s not an easy fight by any means,” he says.
Saturday’s screening starts at 7 p.m. “Brick and Mortar and Love” will open in the Nashville Film Festival later this month.

Is Anything REALLY Free?
Aren't we all just a little suspicious when we see the word "FREE"? I know I am. From experience, free isn't usually free, and that is sad. If we read something, we should be able to take it at face value...believe it, but it seems that we are suspect of many things these days. (I guess that is how the old cliche' was coined..."If it seems to good to be true, it probably is").
Well, at Bags Unlimited, we would like to redeem your faith in "FREE". No, really! There ARE things you can get for free at Bags Unlimited. "Like what?" you say? Well, let's start with FREE shipping east of the Mississippi, and Free WEST of the Mississippi if you spend 200.00. Samples are FREE! YOU CAN GET FREE STUFF TO HELP PROMOTE YOUR SHOW! Free stuff for Record Store Day...I mean, free is free! and we mean it!
So if you want to know what's free, follow our blog as we will update the Free stuff, and we will let you know about specials and sales.....you can even call us just to say HI!
click on this to find out what is FREE!
It's not to say that we don't have things that do cost money, but if you DO buy something from us, (and we hope you will), you will be glad you did. We don't scrimp on quality, we don't shave a little off the top and we don't misrepresent what we sell....we stand behind our products 100%.

How Do I Choose a Storage Box?
Storage boxes can be confusing....i.e. what is the best type and size to use for my collectibles, and what materials are better than others?
What should I look for when searching for storage boxes?
We might have a few answers for you!
Depending on what you're storing, you will want to make sure the box is particular to that certain collectible. If you want to store magazines, what TYPE of magazines, and what year are they? Different years have different sizes in some cases. Find a box meant for that particular magazine.
Look for the TEST WEIGHT...if the test weight is 250 lbs. that is the recommended weight that box can withstand.
What material? Well, acid free corrugated is a standard "go to" box, however, PLASTIC corrugated can help prevent damage depending upon where you are storing your collectibles.
You can find much more information about preservation on our website, and don't forget to check out our "HOW TO" videos while you're there!what do I need to look for in a storage box?

CONVENTION and SHOW SEASON for COMICS, RECORDS, POSTCARDS, BOOKS and MORE
Well, we're headed into SPRING FORWARD time which means the days will be longer, but certainly not lazier! It's convention and show time! There are so many great shows coming up we couldn't possibly begin to list them all, as much as we would like to. Some folks that have taken advantage of our SHOW PROMOTION PACKAGE, however (where you get FREE STUFF!) and are listed in our LINKS category on our website @ SHOW LINKS
This is definitely a PLUS for any convention or shows looking to promote! We all know that the larger the turnout, the more likely it is that your business will grow!
Some of the upcoming shows feature artists, and various personalities that have made a mark in their industry. Getting autographed pictures is always a plus! (Be sure to preserve them in one of our acid free sleeves and backing boards!).
We hope to continue to offer more ways to help conventions and shows expand as needs arise.
If you would like to promote YOUR show, please contact DAVE STREET at 800-767-2247 or Marion.
Dave will be at some of the more local shows, so please introduce yourself if you see him! (He would be the smiling face at the Bags Unlimited table).
Another thing I would like to bring up is vinyl records. We all know vinyl has become more popular within the last couple of years, and we are offering a special give away for Record Stores in NYS that are participating in Record Store Day. Many people are still unaware of the expansive line we offer for records, including printing on record jackets!
At any rate, as this new season begins, let's all try to help one another to grow, and if you happen to see us at one of the shows, please be sure to say "hi"! We're always interested in meeting our customers and would be more than happy to discuss products and pricing with you. (We offer many levels of wholesale pricing, so please be sure to ask!).
So, here is to a new season with BIG SHOWS WITH LOTS OF ATTENDEES~
